About Lociway
A memory method should be something you can practise
Lociway is an independent learning project built around one idea: memory techniques become useful when people can apply them to knowledge they genuinely want to keep.
Why I’m building it
I’m Khang Nguyen, the independent developer behind Lociway. Most explanations of the memory palace stop after describing the technique. Lociway is designed to guide the actual loop: choose a familiar place, create clear stops, turn difficult information into vivid associations, retrieve it, and repair the links that fail.
Vocabulary is the first use case
The first version focuses on English and IELTS vocabulary because unfamiliar word forms expose a real learning problem. Lociway combines the keyword method—linking a new word to a familiar sound and image—with the method of loci and scheduled retrieval.
The longer-term direction is broader: facts, concepts, lists, speeches, and other knowledge that benefits from deliberate encoding and recall. New use cases will only be presented as available when the product supports them.
How the guides are written
Guides are based on published research, practical testing, and lessons from building the product. Sources are linked wherever a research claim matters. Lociway does not claim that one technique works equally well for every person or every kind of material.
